The Akersluis was dug around 1960 and serves as a connection between the Slotervaart in the Western Garden Cities and the Ringvaart of the Haarlemmermeerpolder, providing access for shipping traffic from the southwest. The lock has a length of 45 meters and a width of 7 meters.

We treat the steel parts on the lock gates with the help of a bristle blaster. The doors were removed from the water and then vacuum blasted.
