Blasting

Before blasting, the product undergoes a visual inspection. Attention is paid to weld seams, weld spatter, defects and whether the bolts and nuts are protected, as indicated in ISO 8501-3.
After the visual inspection, the product is cleaned with Mavom clean 560 by means of high pressure cleaning. After cleaning, the product is rinsed with demi water.
At Colijn BV blasting is done with oil-free compressed air, which is stripped of any moisture by means of an air cooler.
The most important abrasive that we use is aluminum silicate. This blasting agent is blown onto the surface to be treated under high pressure. For example, rust and old paint layers are removed. You can also create a specific profile in the surface due to the coarseness of the grit.
After blasting, the cleanliness of the blasted surface is determined on the basis of ISO 8501-1 / 8502-3. The roughness of the surface is also measured with testex strips on the basis of ISO 8503.
